Belgium currently has 100 members in their Pekin Club. 25 of them
have a breeders-card, you can only do shows/expositions in Belgium
with a breederscard. The Belgian standards are like the German
Pekins so follow their type of bird regarding looks and appearance.
In Belgium there
are a total of 20 shows where you can find Pekins. The main show
for Pekins is in Affligem, near Brussels. It takes place on the
last weekend of November.
This year it is on the 25th and the 26th of November
2006 and they always see more than 120 Pekins in the most colours.
The following
colours of Pekin bantam are recognised in Belgium:
birchen, blue, blue mottled, buff, buff blue columbian, buff black
columbian, yellow cuckoo, brown red, cuckoo, cuckoo-partridge,
brown-partridge, partridge, silver-partridge, lavender, lavender
mottled, lavender cuckoo, porcelain, red, white, white blue columbian,
white black columbian, black, black mottled.
All these colours are also recognised in frizzled!
