About breeders

In Croatia is about 200 registered Pekin Breeders. They are registered in societies of small animals breeders, but there are many breeders who aren`t in any of societies. Almost all of our biggest towns have their own society of small animals breeders, and all of this societies are members of Croatian Association of small animals breeders.

Pekin standard

Last year we got a new Croatian Poultry Standard. Standard is based on German and Czech poultry standards. In the standard we can found descriptions of buff, white, black, birchen, blue, cuckoo and partridge pekin bantams, other colours are also allowed.

The shows

The show season beginning on October and ending on February. The shows are organized by societies of small animals breeders, and we can meet pekins in the must of shows. In the shows are exhibited mainly white, black and birchen pekin bantams. Other colours are reared.

The main show

The main and the biggest show is National Show of small animals. National show is always organized in other town. In the national show breeders exhibit their best pekin bantams, and other kind of poultry. We do not have special shows for pekins because here is small number of breeders and birds and breeders lives in different towns what is problem in many cases.

About colours

Like I wrote before, in the standard are recognized white, black, buff, birchen, blue, cuckoo and partridge colours, when the other colours arn`t described in standard, but they are also recognized.
