Hi

My pekin went broody and sat for about 2 weeks and then I put some eggs under her rather than in the incubator because that is hard work and very nerveracking. I had an incubator on standby incase she changed her mind, but she sat fast and they are due this weekend.

Hope this helps a bit.

If you don't want the hassle of them in the incy you could put them under her and if she did go off the boil the incubator could be a back up.

Here here pekinout,
we were only saying a few months back when we visited melton rare breed sales, the rubbish coming through right now is so bad and at an all time high! some of the stock they had on sale were horrendous, i don't know if anyone saw the jubilee orpingtons which they had there, ok i know they don't have an up to date used standard, but to even slightly resemble an orpington would be good! and some of the pekins looked way too much like cochins to me, they were huge! and i don't agree with all these colours that are appearing now, i mean citrus millefleur? come on! they're just really poor quality and wrongly coloured regular millefleurs! surely it would make sense to get the colours we already have around up to scratch first before trying to re-name mistakes and pass them off as a "new" colour!? sorry, but i think very strongly about this subject and it's important for the juniors to learn the difference too. xx
I'm looking for two poultry saddles, one for my brahma hen and one for my orp (both LF). I know theres a few people on here who sell them so thought it was worth asking! I need one which is not going to prevent the cockerel being able to tread at all.
thanks
